Heavy gauge and beautifully made sterling silver coffee pot. Circular raised domed lid with bell shaped finial, external hinge set to the top ferrule. Swan style composite handle finished in a dark oak, raised thumb rest to top of handle. Scrolled ferrules connecting handle to body. Birds head spout detail with scroll form. Tapered cylindrical body with stepped raised circular foot. Assayed to the upper body with a set four hallmarks, makers mark of James Dixon, date mark, lion passant and assay office mark of Sheffield.
Quality and very stylish sterling silver coffee pot. Assay marks are slightly rubbed with all being legible, engraved initials are crisp and clear. Virtually no play in hinge with lid seating well in rim rebate. Handle secure in ferrules with retaining pins tight. The coffee pot is free from dents and scratches, surface marks representative of age, the base sits flat and level.
